On Saturday 25 May, many KNRM rescue stations will open their doors for the Lifeboat Day, including KNRM Katwijk. Take a ride on a real lifeboat and learn more about the heroes at sea.
Inside the boathouse, you can see a video/photo exhibition and find the rescue shop, where you can buy items to support KNRM. You can also go inside for face painting or a glitter tattoo.
Outside, you can take a look at Katwijk Fire Brigade, Katwijk Police, Katwijk Rescue Brigade and Hollands-Midden Ambulance Service. The emergency services will give various demonstrations during the day near the boathouse. The Police Dogs Dressage Club Katwijk will also be present and give demonstrations on the grass field next to the boathouse.
As a donor, or if you become a donor on this day, you can sail along on the Katwijk lifeboat 'Edith Grondel'. Please note! Per donor card, a maximum of 2 visitors can sail along. Every whole hour, the KNRM will issue navigation licences for the following hour. These permits are available at the boathouse.
