The Soefi Temple is located south of Katwijk's promenade in the dunes. The Soefi Temple is unique; it is the only temple of Universal Sufism in the world. The temple is also open to the public!

On holiday abroad, we find it quite normal to visit synagogues, cathedrals, temple complexes or mosques. Yet many people in the Netherlands walk past them unnoticed. The Soefi Temple Universel has a viewing map in three languages that offers surprising insights and takes visitors past the highlights. 

Regular Sunday services are held in the Soefi Temple. In addition, numerous activities take place such as reflection meetings, study evenings and other activities aimed at personal growth, service or reflection. K&O Katwijk also regularly organises musical performances in the main hall.

The temple
The temple has a square shape, with a golden dome on the roof. The square represents stability and strength. The temple was built in 1970 to a design by architect Samuel van Embden. The in-wall and translucent dome diffuses an amber glow. This light symbolises the human heart which, facing heaven, opens up to the divine light. The hall in the temple measures 13 by 13 metres and can accommodate about 120 visitors.
